Jaan-Hendrik Toomel, chairman of the Confederation of Finnish Trade Unions, participates in a trilogue with the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Confederation of Employers.
The meeting with the social partners will review the current labour market conditions with a view to introducing more flexibility. At the same time, changes to the rules on on-call time and the introduction of the concept of an autonomous worker will be discussed. Flexible working time conditions will also be on the agenda. For example, a possible change in working time for workers in the catering and hospitality sector, with better protection for workers as a counterbalance.
The meeting will also consider ratification of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) conventions on working conditions and collective bargaining for civil servants.
